Course Overview
What do they do - Colors and shapes can have a strong effect on people, evoking a wide range of emotions, from sadness to anger to joy. Graphic designers understand this and are experts at manipulating color and shape to make people react in certain ways. "Graphic designers" is a broad category that includes artists who use a wide range of tools to design promotional displays, marketing brochures, logos, commercials, annual reports, and other graphics products for clients. Recently, graphic designers have also begun to work more and more in multimedia communications such as websites, CD-ROMs, and video games.
Specializations - Web designers, commercial designers, production artists, and desktop publishers.
Getting Ahead - With this degree, you can work on more exciting projects for a higher salary or move into administrative jobs like design or advertising director.

This programme is structured as a 2 years Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design. Upon successful completion of the Advanced Diploma students may elect to undertake a progression programme leading to a Bachelor of Design from Raffles College Pty Ltd, trading as Raffles College of Design and Commerce.This program takes the student through the principles of design and an understanding of the appropriate technology. More than the study of graphic design, this program provides a deeper understanding of the designer's role in history, society and research. The flexibility of our curriculum allows designers to pursue individual interests while developing themselves as unique and creative individuals with advanced skills ready to enter the creative design industry.
Career Development
Currently, the quantity of graphic designers available in the industry is unable to meet its demand. Most companies are concerned with the creativity and design ability of a graphic designer. Most senior graphic designers lack management skills. Local universities do not pay attention on the cultivation of market awareness. Most graphic designers are not keen on improving their skills and knowledge further.
