About Chew Hua Seng Bursary
In 2005, Professor Chew Hua Seng, Chairman of Raffles Education Corporation, Singapore made a personal donation to establish the "Chew Hua Seng Bursary Grant". This bursary grant is given to support to BIFT's educational and continued development, particularly at offering study awards to needy students who have shown outstanding academic performance. These awards are aimed at providing monetary assistance, as well as the opportunity, for the identified individuals to develop their fullest potential towards the successful completion of their studies at the University.
Chew Hua Seng Bursary is the largest one both in amount and recipients number among BIFT bursary items up to now. Mr. Chew have set up many bursaries in universities. After the earthquake in Sichuan 2008, Mr. Chew donated to BIFT and other universitys' students from Sichuan. The magnanimous actions from Mr. Chew reflected his support to China's education, demonstrated his compassion of love to students. Mr. Chew believed that these students would continue to spread the love further, so that the love will benefit more students in need of help.
